About BirenAstro
Vedic astrology, calculated properly and described honestly.
Most astrology software asks you to trust its numbers. BirenAstro is built the other way round: positions are computed from an ephemeris (using the open-source astronomy-engine library), checked against an independent reference, and city locations are resolved from the GeoNames geographic database. Every chart records the exact settings that produced it so it can be reproduced years later.
Where a placement sits close enough to a boundary that a few minutes either way would change which sign or nakshatra it falls in, we say so. Astrology is a symbolic tradition with a long history, and it is at its best when it is precise about what it does and does not know.
The interpretation you read is deliberately separate from the calculation underneath it. That means the same chart can be explained in another language, or by a future assistant, without a single planetary position being recalculated.
How the explanations are prepared
Calculated positions and traditional interpretations have separate responsibilities. The learning library explains terms and offers hypothetical examples. The chart workspace connects explanations to the positions in an individual calculation. The guides explain the terminology, show worked examples and link related topics so that readers can follow the reasoning behind a reading.
Explore at your own pace
Begin with one placement, follow its planet, sign and house links, and use the timing guides when the natal chart is familiar. There is no need to read every table at once.
BirenAstro is offered for self-reflection, cultural interest and entertainment. It does not provide medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
